Assistant Manager Job Description
Takes ownership of creating an inviting, cheerful and customer-centric experience in the shop. Cultivates an atmosphere of genuine customer connection while maintaining pleasant and efficient daily operations. A dynamic and energetic leader who loves working with people, is passionate about ethical fashion and wants to grow with the company.
Operations Responsibilities

Honest, trustworthy and dependable. Able to open, close and manage the store independently. Weekend availability. Minimum of 3 years retail and customer service experience (preferably in a specialty retail environment).

Organized and self-motivated. Ability to see the big picture, anticipate store needs and plan ahead accordingly. Able to wear many hats during the day and multi-task while upholding and maintaining store appearance and meeting customers needs.

Has solid time management skills. Is efficient and quick in managing daily operations. Ability to work the sales floor for up to 8 hours. Manages daily incoming inventory by receiving and processing deliveries. Timely processing of online orders and email communication.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong assessment and decision-making skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook. Able to solve problems and offer thoughtful solutions quickly. Communicates in a reliable and timely manner with staff.

Assists in online content management. Takes an active role in planning and photography for social media. Stays up to date on weekly Instagram posts. Has a trained eye for outfitting and styling. Brings relevant and fresh ideas to the team that translate into sales.

Is eager to acquire new knowledge and skills and views learning as a continuous process.
Customer and Staff Relations

Is a fan of the shop and has and has interest in the brands, fabrications and story behind labels we carry. Is passionate about ethical fashion and has a distinctive sense of style. Proactively shares knowledge about our brands with customers in an inspiring way. Ability to discern customers’ needs and recommend relevant fit and styles that translate into sales.

Acts as the point person for customer email communication and order processing. Manages shop emails and outgoing shipments in a timely manner. Ability to handle customer inquiries and challenges with tact and grace.

Nurtures and maintains productive relationships with customers and staff. Follows up on customer requests quickly and proactively. Assists in inventory planning and takes customer preferences into account.

Sets an example for staff and communicates and shares best practices with the team. Leads with strong emotional intelligence and communication skills.

Is a people person who loves working with and managing people. Works well with others, possesses a cheerful and collaborative outlook and fosters a team environment in the shop.
Benefits include paid vacation, sick days, bonus, generous discount and clothing allowance. 32 - 40 hours per week depending on candidate's preference.
